 Good morning all my Grandkids!

The weather is so beautiful today.. my patio doors are open..  sunshine but sort of cool fresh air!  Feeling good today!!  lol

Well, the maintenance men are going to start taking out patio doors from the apartments and replacing them with new ones!!

They seem to have started with the ones across the hall from me,  (I just looked out and talked with the lady across the hall :)  ) So now there is going to be a lot of noise going one.  No videos being made for awhile I would suppose.. maybe work one in late in the day.

When that section comes out here, my apartment will wind up full of flies and wasps!! They shall go wherever they want in all the rooms!!  There won't be anything I can do about it and I so wish this had started  AFTER I move in a a couple of months!!!!

Speaking of which,   I will be moving over to the 'in-law' apartment attached to my sons house in a couple of months or so.  It's going to be so much nicer!!

Here are some of the boxes I already have packed,  things I won't need out which can just sit there until the time comes,  whenever my sons through doing what all he wants to do in the apartment.

See that chest sitting on top of a couple of boxes?  I have all the small chests that were sitting on a shelf in one of the book cases packed within, so they are all together.

Don't have anything else of interest to show you or talk about today..  so..  I guess that's it. lol

It is so wonderful outside that maybe I will sit out on the patio and either write chapters in Dorkly's story or read a book....

Bye

      for

               today.....    :)

  1. Hello Grandma! I was very happy to see you pop up on my youtube channel today! I saw that I can chat with you here so I thought I'd try it. I regret to say I haven't watched your videos for some time, I haven't watched anyone elses either. I had some really bad things happen in the last two years and I just kind of shut down (I actually ended up giving my youtube to my partner) but I've missed your videos so much, so today I decided to get back into the game. Anyway, on a different note, I feel the same way about kids, we have some near my home that just scream constantly, it's obnoxious. Oh! If you do have flies come in, spray them with Fabreeze, it will knock them to the ground so you can squash them, and it's way safer (and better smelling) than using bug spray. I will end it here but I'm happy to be back. ☺️

    1. Oh my Emily.. I hope you keep coming back, now!!!
Sorry about whatever has been going on with you in your life, but come here anytime to maybe find something to enjoy and 'perk' you up!!! :) I'm glad you are 'getting back into the game'!
I don't understand why kids can't just play.... I don't understand all the 'SCREAMING' all the time. It seems like I can remember some of my childhood and I don't remember that going on and yet we were outside having fun (not stuck on a stupid phone texting and gaming!). LOL
Thanks for the idea for the Fabreeze for the bugs!! I shall get me some on hand!!!
I'm very glad that you are here!!!

  2. Good Morning...or 5 til afternoon. Sorry I've not been on for a chat! Been so busy this month. Looks like you've been busy with packing as well.
I understand the kids you spoke about in your video. Our neighbors have a LOT of kids and their rude, loud, and destructive. It makes it hard to enjoy being in your own space.
Won't be on here too much I'm afraid. Going on vacation to Greece! It's been crazy trying to prepare for it but it should be fun and can't wait to see it all! Dorkly has been keeping me entertained as I go about cleaning.
Hope you have a wonderful day! God bless!

    1. Hello Lime!!
Glad you are enjoying Dorkly! I'm enjoying writing about him longer than I expected!! But he's fun!
Packing stuff not really used... it will be a couple of more months before my son is ready to move me.. just didn't want to try to do everything at the last minute... easier on me to take it slow!
I think that kids are just not raised they way they use to be!!!
Oh I hope you have so much enjoyment in Greece!! You could drop a picture in here once in awhile when you post if you want.. (hint hint) :)
Don't stay away from here.. the Blog I mean.. too long! lol

  3. Hey Mama! It will be so nice to be there with your son and daughter in law!

I am glad we don't have a lot of kids around us. I like kids, but like my quiet better XD

It will be a pain to not have a door this summer. I don't think it should take but an afternoon to install it. I know I agree with you, I would definitely not want wasps and flies in my house!

Hope you are doing well. Love to you and yours from me and mine <3

    1. Hi my dear!!!
Yes, it's going to be so much nice there! I'm really looking forward to it.
Today it's been so gorgeous, I went downtown and just moseyed around.. looking in stores, spending time in a bookstore that I love.. even chatting with strangers!! lol
I hope the patio doors being out in just a short time in one day won't be too much of a problem!!! I've had suggestions of using Fabreeze on the bugs so they just fall on the floor and I can scoup them up, and something else similar to that idea, so I guess I'll make it through that mess! lol
I'm so glad you are coming on here!!!
      Later,

  4. Hi Grandma! I absolutely love this time of year! After a long, cold winter it is so nice to open up the windows and smell that fresh, cool air! It is still not that warm here but I kind of prefer it to the sweltering summer to come.

I hope you don't end up with wasps and such during the replacement of your patio doors. Bugs kinda just freak me out! I know they are an important part of our ecosystem but I just need them to stay out!

I am excited to see your new setup! I am sure your son is doing a great job on your new place. I know moving can be a big drag but it is also fun to think about furniture placement and such.

It sounds like a great day to catch some rays on your patio! I hope you have a great rest of your day! xox <3

    1. Hi my friend!!
I'm loving this weather.. absolutely perfect!!
I will have wasps and flies, but people have given me some very good suggestions so I feel a little better now. lol
Oh, when I get moved I think I will totally make a BLOG showing of rooms!! He does a great job at whatever he does! LOL
I was out on the patio this morning but too many screaming kids from somewhere or other!!
Finally i think my daughter-in-law felt sorry for me so she came and got me and dropped me off downtown!! I walked around.. nosing into shops, going to the bookstore.. which is a wonderful little place and my favorite spot downtown!!! Picked me up a few books. I'm back home and all seems to be quiet so I might try the patio again, and start reading one of the books!! :)
      Later,

    2. I look forward to the big reveal! It will be so nice for you to have family close by! :D

I hear screaming kids a fair amount here, our building has a pool and the Marco Polo game is still a thing!

I love to go around and look at shops, you never know what treasure you'll find next!

I hope you had a chance to read and get some rays! xox <3

    3. Oh wow!!! I couldn't stand it if I lived in a place with kids and pools and games!! I'd go insane!!! LOL
I had a great day today.. looking in shops.. wandering the Bookstore.. pick me up a few books. Decided to try some authors I've never read before. I didn't sit out on my patio.. too much noise, but I did sit down and did some writing now I'm going to bed and read for awhile! :)

  5. Hi Grandma!
I am very happy to hear you'll be moving in a few months. I hope that you can spend more time with your son :)

I live with my mother, and in my neighborhood there aren't many kids but two families have kids. Sometimes I hear them screaming while they're playing outside and it gets annoying at times.

I also hope you don't get wasps inside your house during the summer. I understand bugs are important, but they do not belong in the house!

I cannot wait to see what your new apartment will look like once it's completed :)

I hope you have a lovely rest of your day <3

  6. Hi Winnie!
When I get moved I will be out in a quiet residential neighborhood and it will be so much quieter.. can't wait!!! lol
Oh, I get wasps and flies every summer in this apartment... they crawl under the very badly hung doors!!! But when they take off the patio doors to replace them I'm sure the bugs are going to have lots of fun!!! LOL I have gotten two great suggestions though for taking care of that problem so I think I'll be okay for a day! :)
Yes, I think I will make a whole BLOG just about where I move to when that time comes. Let everyone see my new place to live!!
Today I've spent a few hours out-n-about town just to get out and enjoy the beautiful day!! I am so happy that winter is GONE!!!!
    Come and chat again... Later,

  7. Heah I made! You have to sign in with Google I guess to post. I first hit the subscribe to Post comments link below and got a screen full of HTML coding! Yikes. Anyway, thought I'd come by and say good luck on the move. Not fun living out of boxes. If you box up stuff you always find yourself having to go pull out something you didn't think you'd need. We're doing a kitchen renovation now and have moved all our kitchen "stuff" to the den. When we renovated the bedroom, the den was the bedroom. Now, it's the kitchen! lol. Kind of a challenge when you're still living in your house and doing renovations. We bought a little camping stove and cooked eggs out yesterday outdoors on top of our stove we have moved out onto our carport. Kind of fun really. Guess I'll go for now. I'm off to play Star Citizen! It's a fun sci-fi game. Today they're having an in-game ship manufacturers convention so that's where I'm headed. Bye for now. Get the wasp spray ready!

    1. Hi Gary! Thanks for giving me the name!!! :)
Oh I'm ready for the wasps I guess!! lol
I'm glad you found your way here!! Hope I'll be hearing from you some more!!
That sounds like a struggle moving stuff around a lot to make your renovations! But I know you'll enjoy it when it's done!!
Yes I'm finding out that I keep wanting to get in to one box or another for something I 'want' or 'need'! LOL
Some cooking out can make your whole process fun!!
      Hope you enjoyed your game.
      See you later!

  10. The moving time is exciting, for me it is a right time to get rid of unwanted stuff. Afterwards all feel so fresh and clean and orderly :) until you get more new stuff anyway :) Yes, bugs are very busy this time of year setting their nests - today, and yesterday and some days before I have saved some wasps, trapped in my apartment. They were beating their heads against the windows so desperately. My cat wanted to have fun with them, but could't reach them, lol. I wish you more fine warm days ahead!

  11. Good morning Lena!!
Yes I agree about moving..I enjoy looking through stuff and 'getting rid of'.. then I enjoy putting everything out into new spaces... just don't like 'hauling' the packing boxes!! lol
I hope they will be able to replace the patio doors as quickly as possible! It seems they get younger and slower guys to do work around here!!!
I wonder if your cat could have caught one if it could have stung the cat's tongue.. ?? ... that would be gruesome! Glad your cat couldn't reach them!! lol

  12. Hi Grandma
It took me a while to get around to commenting on this post but anyway. It maybe be stupid of me but I've never even thought about pre-packing for a move months beforehand, its so smart! I will definitely be doing that when I move (whenever that will be!). I also love that beautiful chest you have. Good luck with all that noise in the coming days!

  13. Hi Oliver!!
Glad you came by and I hope I'll see you some more!!
This may be the first time I though of packing this leisurely before! It is much more relaxing and less stressful... the enjoyment will be AFTER the move in a couple of months... putting things way as I unpack, into new places, having new ideas etc. I'm especially going to be thrilled with fixing up an "computer room"!!!! I've only, in all these years, had a pc out in the living room... I will probably turn into a mole or something, never to be seen out of that room!!! LOL

  14. Huh, I missed this blog entry, I see! 😅😅
You talked about the patio doors in your vlog, any idea when it's your turn with them? 🙂
(Wanted to recommend those noise-cancelling headphones builders use, those big ones, but that wouldn't be good for playing games, haha 😜 But maybe for reading or writing....as door-related chaos rages on behind you, you sit in your quiet oasis...)
    (A silly image, I know! 😜😁)

I see you are slowly making progress with your packing - love the chest full of chests, hehe 😁😁😁 Like a Russian stacking doll, but with LOOT 🤩😁

Is there any way you could diminish the numbers of insectoid visitors during your door-free interval? Like with a curtain or a net/mesh of some kind? 🧐

Speaking of insects, I saw a gooorgeous carpenter bee - the big, dark blue fellow - in our garden yesterday! Fascinating creatures, bees and bumblebees. So many kinds!
We have one of those 'insect houses', filled with various pieces of wood and reeds, standing by our little greenhouse, so all sorts of pollinators have a wide range of possible living space 😁
It's so calming to watch them fly from flower to flower, legs literally wrapped in pollen... 😊

...but they make for slightly tiresome house guests, that is true.

Have a fine day, Grandma! 😁

  15. Hi there Hervissa!
    You're so funny! I wouldn't wear a big old noise-cancelling head set!!!
Loved your idea of the Russian staking doll.. I would have never thought of that with my chests!!! :)
No I won't have anything hanging around while they have the doors off. Just have to put it off, and hope that when they are through I will eventually find all the bugs and kill them!!!!
Your out-door area sounds really nice!!

  16. I see a big stack of regular boxes, typical for relocating, and then of course there's a big, fat loot chest sitting there, trying to blend it lol. Oh but I see it, and I'd loot it instantly.

Have they changed the doors at your place yet, by the time I'm commenting now? If not, good luck with the wasps! I like insects and stuff, and I don't mind the wasps themselves, but WHY must they always go out of their way to seek me out and act agressively out of nowhere!! If only they could be peaceful, like bumblebees, all would be well. Hrmph.

  17. Hi Jema!!
That chest is full of my smaller chests! lol
Nope, they haven't changed my patio doors yet... they know I'm moving in a couple of months.. maybe they will wait until I move?... I wish!!!
Loved your comment. I always get to laugh when reading your stuff!! You always sound like a lady I'd enjoy knowing (I mean in real life) and sitting in a chair near by and sipping coffee or tea and just chatting! :)
