" Hello My Grandkids!
You wanted me to show the stuff inside all my chests, but it's too much, and some was just for me and not to be read etc.
So, today I'm going to tell you a little story instead! "
Adventuring With My Spidie
As Spidie and I were out adventuring, we came to a dark opening in a large rock at the base of a mountain. "Oooh... that looks spooky", I said, as I looked down at Spidie. He chirped and squiggled a bit to let me know that he was ready for anything! As always! I had to laugh at him!
We walked into the dark opening and followed a short, dimly lit passage. It soon opened into a small cave which was covered with sparkling, tiny, blue lights. They looked like jewels imbedded in the rock!! I took out my pick axe and tried to chip out some of them.. but weirdly I could not! I looked around. Maybe it was a magical place? I heard Spidie's clicking little feet on the stone and gravily floor as he was looking around at stuff.
I walked over to him, "What did you find Spidie?" I asked. He was standing before a table and trying to see what was on it. He would look up at me and click-clack and then look back at the table. So I picked him up and we both looked at the treasure. And it was treasure! There were several golden coins dropped casually onto the table, a small, guttering candle and an old looking chest. It was dirty, with a few cobwebs attached and one hinge on the lid practically falling off! When I opened it, inside was a skull! It had a small knife still sticking into it's eye socket!! Spidie squealed and jumped out of my arms and ran, clacking, to the other side of the cavern!! To my chagrin I wasn't far behind him!!
We looked at each other , then hurried on to an opening into another, cramped passage. We then entered a small room which we both could hardly get into! The only think in the room was a large chest. "Well Spidie, maybe this one has some REAL treasure in it! Spidie made a quick clicking which I didn't know if it was, 'open it!' or 'let's leave!'!! But I felt like this might be something good!!
I carefully lifted the lid which thankfully wasn't locked, and was immediately hit by spears coming out of the doorway!! Thank goodness Spidie was down on the floor! I wasn't hurt as I had on full armor, thank goodness, but it had knocked me to the floor. Spidie and I looked each other in the eyes, and I said, "This is going to be good, I just know it!!" We both looked at the chest, and I hauled myself up and we walked over to it, his little feet clicking and clacking.
He stood up on his back legs and gripped the edge and I did the same. We peered inside and there was enough gold and jewels to buy anything we ever could want!! We looked at each other and I gasped while he chirped! I think we were both a little giddy!! Spidie helped me find some old leather bags and I scooped up all that I could carry. "Let's get out of here Spidie. I will buy us a nice home, cool clothes... Spidie squeeked in astonishment.. "well, clothes for me," I laughed.
There was a door out of that room that took us back outside. We left with our treasure and headed for our new life, with me singing and Spidie chirping and dancing!!
***********
"Hope you enjoyed this grandkids!! It was fun writing it....
and Spidie and I will see you...
LATER! :)
That was cute! Who knew a spider could make for an amusing adventuring companion. I am highly amused a the image of a large spider dancing.
ReplyDeleteHe just sort of hops back and forth, then turns around etc. He does that in one of my videos, and I had to stop and just watch him!! lol
ReplyDeleteThat was a very lovely story! Its making me want to get a spidie in my own game. lol
ReplyDeleteIm also glad your feeling better!
DeleteI had two!! They're very cool, fun and not talkative like usual NPC's!! LOL
DeleteThank you Garrett!!
DeleteAwww I love it! Such a cute "day in the life of" moment between some unlikely friends... treasure hunting and being happy.. It certainly brought another smile to my face. :) And I'm sorry I keep saying it but I'm even happier again to see you definitely looking and sounding like a million dollars again (if not more now) in your last video just now, baba! haha. Having a bit of an overcast week myself so far, so it's nice to see the sunshine energy from your side!
ReplyDeleteHi Alek!! So glad you got here!! Glad you enjoy this!! We'll go see which tower that is, next time, then I'll get the Photographer back into the sunshine!! :)
ReplyDeleteHi grandma, this is Lorena! I commented in one of your videos a couple of hours ago, and you replied! The vlog update made me very happy. As per the blog...
ReplyDeleteHOW CAN YOU TRUST A SPIDER???
I'm terrified of spiders, I have some friends in Australia and they all keep giving me reasons to stay afraid of them. I heard that they even banned an episode from Peppa Pig, the kid's show, because Peppa befriended a spider and someone thought it'd be a terrible idea to teach Australian kids to be friendly with spiders.
Having said that, Spidie does seem like a lovely fella. If Spidie is big enough, you can always try to make a tiny sweater or a ribbon. If I had a spider that helped me find treasures I think I'd get over my fear pretty quickly.
I remembered the Submarine name but I'm glad you told me your real name again. I'd never remember. These spider aren't like the ones we have here on Earth. lol These spiders are cute and fun. But they'll fight WITH you if you tell them to. I never have. Yes, you'd get over being afraid of these pet spider very quickly. They're just too cute!!! lol
DeleteSuch a sweet story :) I can't wait to find a few free hours and try out the Anniversary Edition additional content and get myself a cute Spidie. I watched your videos in the AE game and know they have funny names like Manic. I wonder how many are there to collect in total. No one would come near me if I had a gang of spiders around. I really enjoy your talent of evoking scenes, I think all parts of your writing are lovely but you excel at descriptions. Have a nice day and I hope your health keeps improving as it seems it already has.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for what you said about my writing!!! I'm glad you enjoyed the story! I have no idea how many might be in the game to collect. I was surprised when I got the second one. They won't attack or fight for you or anything like that at all, unless you tell them to
DeleteIt was very nice to read this story. I admire your work and your ability to write stories more and more! They are all very well written and awesome! I smiled imagining Spidie and the adventure in the cave! Thank you for this adventure!
ReplyDeleteThank you, and I'm so happy that you can imagine what Im writing!!
DeleteI LOVED this! I always enjoy adventuring in Skyrim with my little spider followers 😃
ReplyDeleteAren't they cute?!! I have two of them ... on lighter and more cheerful looking, and one darker and more sinister looking. They both act just alike though. lol
DeleteYes! I think they're adorable 😇 I had 2 of them at one point too! I had quite the crew of followers at one point... Serena, 2 spiders, a rabbit and a skeever LOL We were a huge group that could barely all fit through the doors of a tavern 🤣
DeleteLOL Steph!! All those critters in a Tavern?! I'll bet the drunks had fun with that!! LOL
DeleteShirley
Very much enjoyed this short story! To be honest the little spiders creep me out a little but they are funny when they dance around.
ReplyDeleteOh, but they never do anything creepy and I think they are so cute! I have one of them in one of my Skyrim games and two.. either in another game or later in the same one. :)
DeleteI always marvel at the ingenuity of the tomb-builders of old: their traps work flawlessly even centuries after their creators have long since perished! 🤓
ReplyDeleteBut maybe there is a dynasty of servants whose only task is to oil the mechanism every month or year......or maybe it's the *magic* in the air! 😁
A lovely story! 😊
I do wonder why the skull was in the first chest - and who was it that met such a grizzly end! A careless adventurer? A servant who got tired of oiling the traps? Who knows!
(I did expect you to find another, bigger skull in the bigger chest, to tell the truth, lol 😅😅😁😁😁)
For a small spider-bug, Spidie is surprisingly 'talkative' and good at communicating its mood - certainly a good companion to have by one's side. I find its clicking and chirping rather adorable 😁
Thank you for the story! And have a day as joyful as the ending of this little adventure! 😊😁
Thank you so much Hervissa! I have two of these Spiders and one is bright and cheerful looking and one is dark and a little sinister, but they behave just the same in the game. I love them. I had actually thought of having a big skull in the large chest but changed my mind because I don't want the stories on here to be too long and I wanted this to have a happy ending. :)
DeleteLoved this story, those little spiders are always really fun followers to have around!
ReplyDeleteYes they are, I had two of them... and they got along well together! Glad you liked the story. :)
DeleteI can see you both sitting in your new cottage next to the Cozy fireplace watching the flames dance along. Thank you, Shirley! A Beautiful story.
ReplyDeleteThank you Loretta!! He's very cute! I had two in that particular story I told in Skyrim... before I quit it.
Deletehi, its ezra again! this story was so cute, say hi to spidey for me :)
ReplyDeleteHi Ezra!
DeleteWell, Spiey did a little clicky dance and told me to say 'Hi' to you!!! :) glad you liked the story! :)
Thank you! Spidey said... click, click, Eep, click. Have no idea what he said but I'm sure it was a friendly hello!! He's very sweet and not mean. :)
ReplyDeleteI love this! You are so multi-talented and creative! Spidey is so cute and curious :) I have one watching one of my homesteads so I know it's safe! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteAren't they the cutest things?!! I love my Spidy!! Thank you very much!!

ReplyDeleteThank you for this little cute adventure with happy end :) your love with Spidey clearly mutual :) I wish I could have Spidey with SE, because I play Skyrim in VR now.
ReplyDeleteBumble Bee (on youtube) at your service.
Thanks for adding Bumble Bee on here!! I never remember several names for one person.. it would be impossible, there are too many people like that!! Thank you for liking the story!! :)
ReplyDeleteHi, it's Clarence again. I actually enjoyed that story. One of the best story blogs I've looked at in a while. Anyway, did you make that happy birthday post? I haven't been on YouTube in a minute, Grandma. I've been on Facebook, had an exceptional weekend celebrating my birthday coming up Sunday, I definitely went to church, and I had fun in my hometown at my local Motorcycle event and I also sang with Stephanie Mills at Gospelfest in Newark. That's not the highlight, I met Ms. Stephanie's 22 year old disabled son Farad. He is one of the best people I ever met. Not to mention, I have received some exceptional birthday gifts since May 1st. Got a cross, a hairbrush, a few t-shirts and a few of my adoptive grandparents checked in to wish me a happy birthday but did you do it yet? Only asking because I've been busy.
ReplyDeleteClarence, this was such a wonderful comment! Thank you!! Yes, I posted a Happy Birthday to you about noon, I think. I'm glad you had such an enjoyable day!!!
ReplyDeleteShirley
I really did. Thank you! Best gift ever.
DeleteHi Grandma! I have missed 2 of your posts on here! The story about the adventures of you and Spidie is such a sweet tale! I can imagine the duo making their way through a dark and dank cave in search of treasure. Little Spidie with his tiny legs running behind you like a puppy would do.
ReplyDeleteThat first chest had macabre contents to be sure but why? What did the eye filled with a blade mean? Was it hidden away by the killer like some kind of sick trophy? Or maybe it was some kind of warning to all entering that death could follow... It seems as though whomever had left the chest wanted those coming after him/her to stop their exploration in fear!
Little Spidie has a nose for treasure, as he found an even larger chest! This time you suspected that there, in fact, was a big payoff inside. I can only imagine their glee at finding a life-changing amount of coins and gems inside! What a wonderful and successful expedition for the pair!
I hope to hear more of these short stories if you are into it! I thank you for sharing this tale with us! much love 💜
Hi!! Just talked to you somewhere else!!! LOL
DeleteGlad you enjoyed the little story. I have fun leaving them here once in a while. On the side is listed years etc. of a post so you can click back through them and read my other stuff and stories.
Love, Shirley
Hey Mama! I love the story about Spidie. I always enjoyed the videos with them in it, and your sweet comments back to them.
ReplyDeleteWe got home today from Niagra Falls...it was absolutely amazing. You see pictures of the falls and think "oh, they are lovely!" But then you visit, and the experience is totally different. We went to an area where we were less than 100 feet from the American Falls, and probably less than 50 feet from Bridal Veil falls. Of course we also went on Maid of the Mist. The whole experience was absolutely amazing. I'll try to send you some pics and video via email. Love to you and yours from me and mine
Oh, so glad to get this!!! Sounds like you had a great time!! I will look forward to pictures!!! The first time I was married we went to Niagra Falls, and it was so long ago I can hardly remember what they looked like in reality! LOL Also, we didn't go on the Maid of the Mist... maybe they didn't even have that way back then.. it was in the earliest of 1950.
DeleteLove, Grandma Shirley
Hi Grandma Shirley!
ReplyDeleteThat was a cute story, I really enjoy writting too! It's a shame some people are so scared of spiders, must of them are very cute, and the others are very cool-looking hehe.
I'm very happy to know you're feeling better by the way!
Thank you so much Yakarin!! Yes, I am feeling like I am actually 'well' today!! Might make a new video!! lol
ReplyDeleteHi grandma!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're doing well. I loved reading that story!
I usually keep those little spiders in one of my homes because I don't want anything to happen to them, but sounds like Spidie is a great companion :)
I would love to see more of these little stories.
Thank you so much for such a lovely comment.! They are great commanions!! They will fight with you if you give them instructions. But I don't want them to because I don't want them to get killed and I don't know it they are .. what ever you call it, ..invincible??
DeleteShirley
Oh my god, Spidie is ADORABLE!! Not just the picture, but the descriptions too! And he's not as brave as he looks haha, I love it!
ReplyDeleteHe's especially cute when he's standing in front of the table, trying to see what's on it. I can vividly imagine it. ^_^
Fun fact: before clicking on the picture thumbnail, and before reading the text, I thought the picture was of a real spider lol. I thought you had an actual pet spider at home or something. lol!
I'm so glad you like him!!! I've never seen him do those cool things.. except in my head.. lol But when I fell in love with him was in-game, and I had come in the door and he still thought he was by himself I guess, and he was dancing!! As soon as he saw me he stopped!! lol
DeleteIt's amazing that I really fell for these spiders because in real life I am afraid of them.. LOL Maybe it's know that these can't really touch!! lol
