Spring Is Coming!!!

Well my friends,  I guess Spring might really be on the way by the looks of these pictures that I snapped today!

It is so nice out that I decided to go for a walk.  I wasn't too long because I haven't been 'out walking'  all winter! I'd probably pass out if I suddenly tried a LONG walk!!

    1. I think those were my favorites also. :) Oh, that cake was yummy. At the grocery I buy a cake holder that has a quarter of four different cakes in it with a plastic divider between them! I have 4 choices every time I want a piece of cake! :)

  2. Reading this comment on my way to choir rehearsal tonight. Had you on my mind at work, Grandma but I am so pumped for spring. Not to mention, your birthday!!!! πŸŽ‡ However, BIGGEST cherry 🌸 blossom festival in my area. I go every year and it's so much fun there. Sometimes I go with my sister. I'm in the New York area so it's not the National Cherry Blossom festival in DC but it's the biggest and I take the train to Newark for the fest. Any interesting Spring festivities in the Cincinnati area and do you go, Grandma?

    1. Hi Rencie!! The festival that you go to sound beautiful!! No, I don't know of any around here. I'm pretty much pumped for spring too! This winter has seemed so long, to me! I'm always surprised when I hear someone say that they 'had me on their mind' at work or sometime during the day. I can't imagine that LOL I always think 'Why', 'what about', and so on. lol Glad you came and posted, Rencie!!

    2. I thought about you because even though you never met me, you watched me grow, Grandma and I cannot wait to take that Greyhound to Cincinnati and get ice cream with you. It will be fun when that happens.

  5. Shirley these pictures were so cute! I adore walking but of course walking in winter is impossible! It was 68 degrees here today in Southwest Wisconsin and I took an amazing walk with my husband!

Have a great evening, looking forward to more! ❤️

  6. I love seeing pictures like these, I live in a desert so I never get to see this in real life. They're really beautiful pictures, you're a natural photographer!
I also love rewarding myself with cake sometimes, it makes a good day so much better.

    1. Thank you, whom ever you are.
When I lived in Arizona, in the spring the cactus bloomed and there were flowers all over that big open desert! It was beautiful. I love walking in the desert and hunting for all kinds of beautiful rocks! lol
Yes, I agree that cake makes a good day better. I love it, but I do try to not eat to much. lol
Thank you for enjoying my pictures! :)

  7. The cherry blossom in particular is so beautiful Grandma! Its autumn here in Australia so we're getting lots of oranges and reds in the trees instead of flowers but autumn is my favourite season so its fine be me! What's your favourite season?

    1. Hello Oliver! I love autumn also, it's beautiful. But, I guess spring is my favorite season because I have waited so long for it throughout the cold winter!! :) Glad you came and looked at my flower pictures. Nice to see you!

I think you're ahead of us in Missouri in the blooming department. Our Bradford Pear hasn't had flowers yet and our insides are still working on coming up.

    1. Thank you, who ever you are. Are you a little more north than I am? I'm at the bottom of Ohio. I just 'emotionally' always think of Virginia as warm, yet I know that it isn't because I use to live there! lol

  10. Such beautiful flowers! They are finally blooming here in Louisiana also. The weather is finally getting nice enough to go out on walks to enjoy them all and I just want to be outside as long as possible.

The warm sun on my skin feels nice. I have no idea what they are called but we get these vines that grow up our trees bloom the prettiest yellow flowers. Eventually they fall and leave a blanket of petals all over the ground. I just love that, it looks so beautiful.

    1. Hello Courtney! Such a lovely comment! I'd love to see what that is that grows up a tree with yellow flowers. I've seen vines like that on trees, but not that bloomed with pretty flowers! Very cool!! Glad you're going for walks. I've been on a couple of short ones. Working up to the long ones after being inactive for so long during such a long winter this year.

    2. You can do it! It will just take time. I looked up what the flowering vines are called and it’s yellow jessamine. We also have purple wisteria too.

    3. Courtney, I never have seen those two flower climbing around a tree!! That must be beautiful!!

  11. Very springly pictures, thank you so much! I like the ones with white and pink flowers the most. Astonishing - only flowers and no leaves, a rare sight for me. I am happy that spring came to you. We still have winter but the seagulls have arrived already and sun much more bright, so spring is coming shortly :)

    ReplyDelete
  12. Nice to see you Lena! Glad you enjoyed the flowers! We will probably have a cold snap before spring is declared! lol Do you enjoy the seagulls? Must be fun to watch them, but they must get pretty noisy.

    1. No matter, cold snap will be over before we know it, I guess :)
I mostly hear seagulls when they fly high in the sky. Don't know why but their cries sounds like a call to adventures to me, I enjoy this feeling :) maybe I read too much sea adventurer's stories as a child :) lol
Do you have interesting birds around?

    2. Yes, Spring is coming. No, I just see cardinals and wrens, maybe a chickadee or something. OH, there is a pair of Doves! They like to 'mate' on my porch banister!!! lol They can act so cute and funny working up to it, then it's over in a second!! lol

  13. Hi Shirley! GamerJema here, struggling with the login again lol.

Oh my god you have actual green leaves and flowers! They are so pretty! You're further ahead than we are here in Norway, for sure. That being said, I've see the first flower starts pop out of the soil a few places. It's only a matter of time now.

Can you hear how I try to convince myself? Lol. This had been the longest and coldest winter ever.

  14. Keep on convincing yourself, Jema!!! Spring will get here.. I'm sure ? LOL

  15. I have to say I'm in the minority and I'm still wanting more winter. It really didn't feel like we had it much here other than some colder temperatures. Just a couple minor snowfalls. It's also nicer with the temperatures in the store where it feels more pleasant to a big guy like me.

    1. Yeah, Brad, you could stand colder weather better than I can!! I'm even cold in the summer! lol Even without much snow this winter is was been long and hard for me. I so miss being able to come into the store and see you whenever I want too!! :)

    2. I am built for the cold with my extra padding. I miss seeing you too. As it gets warmer when you do come in if you don't see me, I may be working in the cooler :-)

    3. LOL! Well, I have asked for you before but those times just happened to be when you weren't there. I wish I knew how people put emoji's on here! I can't!. I need to come in and have 'someone' help me pick out some cologne. :)

  20. Oh, those pictures are indeed full of life and hope and springtime joy; love love love the tiny white blooms, especially! 🌼😊
Daffodils are sloooowly revealing their beautiful bright heads here, but more importantly - pollinators of all kinds are waking up! 😁 ... let's hope there's no sudden Return of the Frost in the cards, the weather has been wonky these last few months! 😬
(I am very fond of the more "wild" type of lawns and parks and gardens, where the human hand only gently nudges and nature has its say in where what shall grow! 😊😁😁)

    Lovely cake, too πŸ˜‰πŸ˜

It looked very sunny in the morning around here, but now it's cold and windy and rainy; hopefully it will ease down so I can head out for a walk, myself! 😁

But the birds are singing - sparrows and starlings and turtledoves and kestrels - so I'm still smiling 😊😊😊

  21. Hi Hervissa!! Loved all you had to say about the flowers, etc. !!!!
That's just how my weather has been!! It will be so nice and sunny but then the gray sky comes back, and it gets so depressing!! And it seems like it's never going to get warm again!!!

  22. Hi Shirley,

I was finally able to find your blog. Thank you for sending me the information over YouTube.

I am to very happy to see the arrival of spring also, here in England we are getting ready for the clocks to go forward this weekend while we celebrate Easter. I have been reorganising my garden, planting new fruit trees and I even picked up a couple of small pine trees. Imm looking forward to planting them as they so fondly remind me of the scenery in Skyrim.

I have told you plenty of times over YouTube but I wanted to tell you again here on your blog how much I enjoy watching your videos, it's great to see some as passionate about it as myself.

Enjoy your week off, and I look forward to hearing from you.

    Rob Johnson.

    1. Hi Rob!! Glad you found how to get here!! I have so many times forgotten about changing the clocks! LOL At least most of mine will change automatically. I only have one that I have to change. Oh my, you are planting some big stuff, not just flowers! :) So happy to know that you enjoy my videos! Hope you caught my Vlog about what I will be playing this year!

    2. Yes I caught your Vlog, I recently downloaded some new content for Skyrim. You may have seen it already yourself, I think it is called summer isles? Have you heard of that place?

Something else that may interest you is I Heard they are remaking elderscrolls oblivion, I believe they are updating the graphics to match Skyrim. So that could be another interesting place to explore.

I think it is being released later this year or possibly next year.

I wish I could show you photos of the garden but I don't think I am able to show you them on here.

Happy birthday for next week, I hope you have a fantastic day!!!

    3. Rob, they have been doing that not only with Oblivion but also
with Morrowind, for years. Yes, they are hoping to be done soon.
I have download similar places but I don't remember that name.
You can always show me pictures on my email:
      ' scurrry.studydesk@gmail.com '

    4. Yes, there are people remaking them but also recently it was mentioned that Bethesda themselves are also remaking Oblivion, I don't believe they are making Morrowind though. I think they said it should be finished in less than a year.

Ok that's great I will send you a photo to your email then.

  23. Hi Shirley, I watch your skyrim videos and I apologize that I've never commented. I was sad when I watched your vid today. Are you just bored of Skyrim or playing in general? I ask because I just started Dragons Dogma 2 and I could see you playing any sort of character and having lots of fun. I also play Destiny 2 and understand the boredom that can sometimes set in between updates. Anyway hope you give dragons dogma a try. God bless, Maggielora

    1. Dear Maggie, thank you for your comment. I am not tired of Skyrim, I'm tired of people just posting "Hi". They never say anything about the video, so I'm just wasting my time. I'm still playing it for myself, I love it. But I'll never record and post it again. :)

  24. I really wish spring was coming here... I mean... We had a touch of spring, and then we just had two days off snow, and all of a sudden, spring feels miles away once more.

I most certainly hope that you have way more weather luck we have had here, and that you have kept your lovely spring!

    1. Actually izzy it has been rather disheartening here! Most of the time the sky is covered in gray, once in a great while the sun shows through in patches the it quickly goes gray again. Once in a great while it is a real, actual sunny day. I wish it would hurry up and make up it's mind that it is really spring!!! lol

  25. Hello Granma! The pink tree looks so lovely I want it in the Rift! I think Blubbo has a pink/purplish replacer for aspens I'm gonna try for my next playthrough. Granny, since we've both given up on TES6 what are your thoughts on Beyond Skyrim projects? Bruma is receiving regular updates which is a good sign for the rest of the project, even if Bethesda doesn't deliver on TES6 at least I know BS Cyrodiil will be coming out someday and will be good. The community never disappoints. Btw are you still playing Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon?

  26. Hi Lamia!! No I'm not playing Tainted Grail. In my gaming and recording I have played in other places created by devs, but there are several still being created which I think will be out any time sooner than ES6, the way it's going! lol
